01 / The product question

A little structure.
Room to be human.

Aura explores a simple question: how can a planner help someone begin a task while leaving room for the day to change? The interface gives the next task a clear place and keeps postponing or skipping within reach.

01

One next moment

Bring the immediate task forward without losing the wider day.

02

A choice at the reminder

Starting, snoozing and skipping remain separate, explicit actions.

03

A simple way in

Manual task entry makes the core flow available without an AI connection.

The design aim: support a decision, without turning every changed plan into a failure.

02 / Layout decisions

One working layout.
Three deliberate choices.

This review isolates three decisions in the current My day screen. Each panel uses the same layout: the day context, the next task and the controls inside that task.

Design-decision review · One observed interface, with a different region highlighted in each panel.
  1. Orient within the day. The greeting and My day / Plan with Aura tabs sit above the task.
  2. Focus on one next moment. The larger card brings together the task, start time and duration.
  3. Keep actions in context. Start now and Preview reminder stay inside that same card, above the wider schedule.

03 / Low to high fidelity

The same screen.
From structure to finish.

These wireframes were reconstructed from the actual captures beside them. Content order, controls, proportions and the visible crop stay aligned; the visual treatment is simplified to show the structure.

My day

Low fidelity · Centred content, horizontal tabs and both actions inside the next-task card.
High fidelity · The same 1280 × 800 view, captured 9 September 2026.

Reminder preview

Low fidelity · The reminder’s structure and controls.
High fidelity · The same captured reminder preview.

04 / My day

Make the next moment
easy to find.

The opening combines a short greeting, one prominent task card and two clear controls: Start now and Preview reminder. The quieter schedule below keeps other commitments available without competing with that first decision.

Actual interface capture · 9 September 2026, with sample tasks.

The visual decision: use contrast to create focus, then leave the surrounding interface calm.

05 / The working flow

From a plan
to a moment of choice.

The real captures show two manually entered example tasks and the reminder preview. My day establishes focus; Schedule provides context; Reminder brings the action back to the person.

My day · See the next task and open the reminder preview.
Schedule · Inspect dates, times and available actions for each sample task.
Reminder preview · Inspect the three choices while the plan remains unchanged.

My day · See the next task and open the reminder preview.

Screen walkthrough · Actual web captures across desktop and mobile. Choose a step or press Play. No live AI request was used for these captures.

06 / Reminder choices

The reminder can ask.
The person decides.

The reminder presents Let’s go, Snooze 30 min and Skip it as distinct choices. Supporting prompts sit beneath them, so the core decision remains visible before any conversation.

Actual reminder preview · The preview label makes its temporary state explicit.

Make the state understandable.

A labelled preview lets someone inspect the reminder without waiting for its time or changing the device clock. Closing the preview returns to the plan.

07 / A flexible schedule

Keep the details
close to the task.

Dates, start times and duration sit beside each task. Start, Complete, Edit and Delete make the available actions visible in place, including on a narrow screen.

Actual schedule · Two manually entered sample tasks.

A local prototype.

Tasks are stored in the browser. The interface includes a reminder preview; dependable background alarms require a separate device implementation and validation.

08 / Outcome and boundaries

A clearer interface.
The next step is evidence.

Aura connects a day view, a task schedule and a reminder preview in a working web prototype. Designing the reminder reinforced one principle: a helpful prompt should make its choices and its current state understandable.

3

Reminder choices

Begin, postpone or skip.

1

Local plan

A schedule kept in the browser.

Ready to observe

The core flow can be reviewed with sample tasks.

These describe the prototype. Productivity, adherence and real-world reminder reliability have not been measured.

What the current evidence covers

The captures demonstrate manual planning and reminder controls. AI connection quality, calendar sync and native phone notifications are not demonstrated. Privacy, connection failures and background behaviour require further review before public release.

09 / Next phase

Test the moments
that change the plan.

The next phase would move beyond interface inspection to the decisions and conditions that determine whether a reminder is useful.

Proposed next phase · An illustration of planned work, not completed research.
  1. 01

    Observe setup and snooze choices

Ask people to add a task, inspect its time and choose a response to a reminder. Record where labels or expectations differ.

  2. 02

    Test actual device behaviour

Check notification permissions, app backgrounding, locked screens and time changes before relying on reminders outside the open browser.

  3. 03

    Refine control and recovery

Review keyboard and screen-reader use, local data handling, connection failures and a clear way to change or remove a plan.

A useful planner leaves room
for a real day.
